The Board of Equestrian Tasmania is calling for expressions of interest for the role of Branch Medication control Officer on behalf of Equestrian Tasmania
Position Description
The successful applicant will be responsible for the following:
Working with events organising committees and sports to organise swabbing for state championships
Conducting random swabbing
Ordering, storing, and distributing swabbing kits to MCO stewards for events
Organising veterinarians to attend swabbing
Ensuring swabs are either sent through the attending vet or through the MCO to the analysing laboratory
Maintaining communication with the Board of Equestrian Tasmania
Ensuring all relevant paperwork is sent through to the EA national office.
Qualifications for the position
Applicants should be current medication control officials or an EA or FEI steward
Applicants who do not have these qualifications will be considered
Be prepared to attend updating and training as required by both Equestrian Australia and Equestrian Tasmania
Have historically and currently a responsible social media profile
Possess the utmost sensitivity and integrity
Have an ability to work in an empathetic way with competitors who may find the process confronting
Be able to work collaboratively with organising committees and the medication control officials under their authority
Support the organisation that is Equestrian Tasmania and its rules and regulations
Have a thorough understanding of the regulations referring to conflict of interest and ensure that both the BMCO and MCO’s conform to those rules and regulations.
Remuneration
This is a voluntary position, expenses pertaining to travel and purchase of any equipment relevant to the performance of their BMCO duties will be covered
Training and updating will be provided by the organisation.
